James K. Bruner was born and raised in Martin County and resides with wife, Jan, in Sewall’s Point for 37 years.
Following college at the University of Miami, Jim taught at the Pine School for two years while securing his real estate license.
Jim became a Real Estate Broker in 1973, and at age 26 established Bruner Real Estate LLC., to market commercial and residential properties. During this time he and Jan purchased land for developing professional office/retail buildings. Jim’s family was influential in the development of Monterey Commons, an 18-acre planned unit development consisting of luxury professional offices, medical and financial establishments.
In 2000, Jim purchased Fenton & Lang, which was established in 1947 from Graeme Lang, who was retiring. For the last 17 years, Jim has been owner/broker of Fenton Lang Bruner & Associates, and together with FLB’s team of professionals, instrumental in continuing its legacy as the premier real estate broker on Jupiter Island.
In October 2016, Adrian and Lia Reed purchased the company and requested Mr. Bruner stay on as their Broker/Manager and continue in assisting and overseeing all facets of the business.
Throughout the years, Bruner served on several boards and is an avid supporter of numerous charities. His sense of “community” runs deep, in 2004 together with the City of Stuart, Jim and his staff promoted and coordinated the planting of 189 Tabebuia memorial trees, a familiar sight along East Ocean Boulevard.
Jim and Jan enjoy spending time during the summer at their home in northern Maine and visiting their daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandsons, who reside in Washington, D.C.
